Fiduciary Horror Stories
Shareholder Jed Williams presented a talk on “Fiduciary Horror Stories” at the Real Estate, Oil & Gas Conference hosted by the Wealth Management and Trust division of the Texas Banker’s Association. The annual conference was held on February 27-28, 2020 in San Antonio. Using his experience representing corporate fiduciaries in litigation and litigation avoidance, Jed presented real-life examples of “horror stories” arising from fiduciary management of specialty assets such as oil and gas and real estate and provided strategies for trust managers to avoid similar situations as they manage risky assets.
Jed has practiced civil litigation for over 30 years. His practice emphasizes trust and estate litigation including representing corporate trustees in litigation and strategies to avoid litigation. Jed’s experience includes defending corporate trustees against claims for mismanagement of trust assets such as mineral interests and real estate.
